Dr. Adam Barkey,
PsyD

Dr. Adam Barkey, PsyD is a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in child and adolescent psychology and the co-founder of Curect Neuropsychology of Texas.

Dr. Adam Barkey, PsyD is a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in child and adolescent psychology and the co-founder of Curect Neuropsychology of Texas.

Dr. Barkey works to assess how families and other social dynamics such as school, the environment and mental illness influence the socio-emotional adjustment, cognitive development, behavioral adaptation and health of children and teens. Dr. Barkey assesses and treats children with a wide range of biological, psychological and social problems. These can include biological vulnerabilities, emotional and developmental problems, significant mental disorders, cognitive deficits, trauma and loss and health-related problems. Dr. Barkey also specializes in cognitive-behavioral therapy for the treatment of depression, anxiety, and is trained in trauma-focused cognitive-behavioral therapy for PTSD. Dr. Barkey takes an individually-tailored and collaborative approach in his work with children, adolescents, adults, and couples.

Dr. Barkey received his doctorate in Clinical Psychology with a specialization in Child and Adolescent Psychology from the University of Hartford. He completed numerous clinical externships in settings including pediatric inpatient and outpatient units, therapeutic day schools and specialty placements for treating individuals with special needs. Dr. Barkey completed his predoctoral internship at The Clifford Beers Clinic in New Haven, CT where he received specialized training through the Yale University Collaborative in the diagnosis and treatment of those who have experienced complex trauma. Dr. Barkey also completed his postdoctoral fellowship at the Westchester Institute for Human Development where he gained additional experience in working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders as part of the Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and related Disorders (LEND) program.

Dr. Elina Kugel, PsyD is a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in adult and pediatric neuropsychology and the co-founder of Curect Neuropsychology of Texas. Dr. Kugel specializes in neuropsychological evaluation of individuals who suffer from a wide range of brain disorders, including Epilepsy, Parkinson’s disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Alzheimer’s disease/dementia, stroke and traumatic brain injury/concussions, among other diagnoses. She tailors each evaluation to address the specific concerns and needs of each client. At the conclusion of testing, Dr. Kugel provides clients with a comprehensive written report detailing cognitive, emotional and/or academic functioning. Each client also receives an extensive list of practical and concrete recommendations to help them and their family focus on strengths in order to overcome their specific set of challenges

Dr. Kugel received her doctorate in Clinical Psychology with a specialization in neuropsychology from the University of Hartford. Dr. Kugel received extensive clinical training including the Long Island Jewish Medical Center and Weill Cornell Medical College-New York Presbyterian Hospital. She completed her predoctoral internship at the Icahn School of Medicine-Mount Sinai Hospital and postdoctoral fellowship at the JFK-Johnson Rehabilitation Institute. Dr. Kugel’s research interests include traumatic brain injury and neurodegenerative diseases.

Dr. Yuka Cohen, PsyD, ABPP-CN is a board certified clinical neuropsychologist specializing in lifespan neuropsychological assessment and the Director of Neuropsychology of Curect Neuropsychology of Texas.

Dr. Cohen specializes in comprehensive neuropsychological evaluation of neurological conditions, including traumatic brain injury, stroke, dementia, and psychological and neurodevelopmental disorders. Dr. Cohen incorporates her training from diverse settings to approach clients’ questions and concerns individually.

Dr. Cohen completed her doctoral program in Psychology at Pepperdine University. She completed her internship at NYU Langone Hospital, Rusk Rehabilitation, working in inpatient and outpatient settings. Her post-doctoral fellowship was completed in rehabilitation research and clinical neuropsychology at Mount Sinai School of Medicine/Icahn School of Medicine. Dr. Cohen worked at NYU Langone Hospital for over ten years as a Senior Neuropsychologist and Clinical Instructor of Rehabilitation Medicine. She has published in traumatic brain injury, post-traumatic headache, and neuropsychological rehabilitation and has presented at national and local conferences.

Dr. Yelena Goldin Frazier, PhD, ABPP-CN is a board-certified clinical neuropsychologist specializing in lifespan neuropsychology and the Chief Clinical Neuropsychology Officer of Curect Neuropsychology of Texas.

Dr. Goldin Frazier specializes in comprehensive neuropsychological evaluation of individuals with individuals with a wide range of neurological and cognitive disorders, including dementias, movement disorders, traumatic brain injury, stroke, epilepsy, as well as psychological disorders that impact cognition. Dr. Goldin Frazier adopts an individualized flexible approach to ensure that each client’s needs and concerns are optimally addressed. All clients receive a detailed comprehensive written evaluation report of their neurocognitive, emotional, and/or academic functioning, and specific recommendations to enhance functioning and overall quality of life for clients and their families.

Dr. Goldin Frazier received her doctoral in Clinical Neuropsychology, with specialization in neuropsychology and health psychology from Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology/Albert Einstein College of Medicine, where she received additional specialized training in geropsychology. Dr. Goldin completed her fellowship in clinical neuropsychology and rehabilitation at Mount Sinai School of Medicine/Icahn School of Medicine. Prior to joining our team, she worked at JFK Johnson Rehabilitation Institute in Edison, New Jersey for over 10 years, where she served as Senior Neuropsychologist, Director of Training, and Director of Traumatic Brain Injury Model System, and was Principal Investigator on federally funded grants. Dr. Goldin’s research interests include aging, traumatic brain injury, and sex/gender issues. She has presented at national and international conferences and congressional hearings and holds several leadership positions in professional organizations.

Dr. Krystel Salandanan,

During sessions, she provides a secure and unbiased space for them to share their feelings and thoughts without fearing judgment.

Dr. Salandanan also helps her patients develop practical coping mechanisms, increase resilience, and improve emotional balance.

Dr. JorDaSha Atchison,

Dr. JorDaSha Atchison, PhD, is a current postdoctoral fellow specializing in neuropsychological assessment with pediatric populations, though her clinical training has included experience across the lifespan. As a licensed school psychologist, Dr. Atchison integrates her extensive background in neuropsychological and educational principles to provide comprehensive evaluations for children and adolescents while also maintaining competence in assessing individuals across the lifespan.

Dr. JorDaSha Atchison, PhD

Dr. JorDaSha Atchison, PhD, is a current postdoctoral fellow specializing in neuropsychological assessment with pediatric populations, though her clinical training has included experience across the lifespan. As a licensed school psychologist, Dr. Atchison integrates her extensive background in neuropsychological and educational principles to provide comprehensive evaluations for children and adolescents while also maintaining competence in assessing individuals across the lifespan.

Dr. Atchison earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Texas at Arlington and a master’s degree in clinical psychology, with a specialization in school psychology, from the University of Texas at Tyler. She received her doctorate in school psychology from Texas Woman’s University, where she obtained additional training in neuropsychology. Dr. Atchison completed her predoctoral internship at Hillside Family of Agencies in Rochester, NY, where she conducted psychological, educational, and neuropsychological assessments for a diverse client population. Dr. Atchison is currently an Adjunct Professor at Tarrant County Community College.
